Woodcock-Johnson IV Achievement Testing

Attention Homeschool Parents

I’m glad for the opportunity to test your child! Testing will not only fulfill the requirement for homeschooling families, but it will also give you a standardized glimpse of how your child is doing scholastically and help you to continue to tailor your child’s curriculum. As an experienced evaluator, there are some things that you need to know to make the testing run smoothly.
What should we expect on the day of testing? Plan on 2 hours per student. I will not do 2 hours straight!  I will be observing your student for signs of fatigue or attentional difficulties, at which time we will take a break. You are welcome to stay as your child is being evaluated or you may leave and come back. How do I prepare my child/ren for testing: Let your student know that this test is simply to show what they have learned in school this year. It is not one that they can fail, so there is no need to be anxious. It’s only asked that they do their best. A good night’s sleep the night prior to testing! A nutritious breakfast with protein would be great! (Easy on the sweets!) Water or a beverage while testing.
